DESCRIPTION:Designed to give you a broad overview of the health\, safety and environmental issues to be considered when making programmes or films. \nThe course will explain why risk management is needed in production and give practical methods of how it should be tackled. It is recognised that mental health and culture have both grown in importance to production management in recent times and this course discusses the key approaches in dealing with these critical topic areas. Contact us for details. \nCONTACTAims & Objectives\n\nA broad overview of the risk management issues to be considered during the making of programmes\, including hazard identification\, risk assessment and good health\, safety and environmental management\nThe opportunity to analyse and discuss the risk management techniques used on production including hazard identification and risk assessment\nDiscuss good health and safety management on location\nInformation about risk management policy and procedures\, including how productions should interact with their contractors and others\nTo provide information about the legal framework\n\nWho Is It For?\nFor those who manage people\, safety on production and/or complete/approve risk assessments. \nThis includes Executive Producers\, Production Executives\, Line Producers\, Series Producers\, Producers\, Assistant Producers\, Directors of Photography\, 1st Assistant Directors\, 2nd Assistant Directors\, 3rd AD\, Production Managers\, Production Coordinators\, Heads of Departments etc. \nCourse Content\nThe course concentrates on the practical aspects of safely managing a production: \n\nRoles and responsibilities in programme making\, both within the production team and those outside\nThe potential pitfalls of risk management and how these may impact upon the programme making process\nApplication of risk management principles using real-life case study examples\nHow to establish and maintain control through clearly defined occupational risk roles and responsibilities\n\nQualifications\nThe Production Safety Passport (PSP) is an industry-led scheme to support the mutual recognition of health and safety training in the Creative Media Industries. The same health and safety skills are needed across a range of creative media sectors that are involved in film and television production. \nThat’s why ScreenSkills have worked with the industry to create the Health and Safety Framework\, an agreement across sectors about which qualifications or training courses are needed for priority production roles. It means that training and qualifications you do with one employer will be recognised and valued by your next employer. \nUpon successfully completing this programme\, you will gain a PSP certificate via the ScreenSkills website which employers can use to verify your level of training – this is valid for 5 years. Further details of the PSP can be found here. \nDuration\n1 day (6 hours) \nTerms and Conditions \n6 working days’ notice of cancellation/postponement prior to the start of the course must be given. Failure to do so will lead to a 75% cancellation fee. Courses cancelled/postponed within 48 hours or less prior to the start of the course will incur a 100% fee. \nCourses may be rescheduled once only and must be rescheduled within 2 weeks of the original course date to avoid the 75% fee.
