Abrasive Wheels

Abrasive wheels are widely used in cutting workshops and construction for tasks like cutting, grinding, shaping, sanding, polishing, and cleaning hard materials such as metal and concrete. However, they come with risks.

According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA), angle grinders (a type of abrasive wheels) are the third most dangerous tool, causing around 5,400 injuries annually, most often due to the wheel shattering. This highlights the importance of proper training, understanding the equipment, and recognising potential hazards to ensure safe operation.
