The First Option KnowledgeBase is a comprehensive database of production safety resources.

Subscriptions at the ‘Individual’ tier and higher enjoy access to all KnowledgeBase resources, including the interactive AI-powered Bot to answer questions 24/7. Just click on the Advice Hub button on the bottom right of the screen.

The ‘Subscriber’ and ‘Freelancer’ tiers do get access to KnowledgeBase, but the content is more limited. If you’re not logged in (irrespective of tier level) you will only see very generic advice.

It is important to understand that access to the KnowledgeBase alone will not satisfy your legal obligations to seek safety advice from a “competent person”, which is a requirement of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. To satisfy that obligation you will need to choose a package that includes Advice Line support.

Legal considerations aside, any hazard or control information provided by the KnowledgeBase will by its very nature be generic, and therefore will need to be amended to suit the specific circumstances of the activities being assessed – so unless reviewed by us, First Option accepts no liability for any subsequent risk assessments produced by clients or others that rely solely on information provided by this system.

While we make every effort to ensure this information is accurate and up to date, KnowledgeBase has been developed with the intention of providing information only and on an ‘as is’ basis so First Option Safety Group Ltd accepts no responsibility for the use of information provided. We believe the information to be as comprehensive and accurate as possible, but it can only be of a general nature and is not a substitute for consultation with qualified safety advisors.
