Access and Egress

It’s important that access and egress isn’t compromised or made hazardous and in particular that rapid evacuation is possible if necessary.

As well as not being able to get out fast enough in an emergency, poor access and egress can result in injuries from slips, trips and falls, objects falling from height or manual handling injuries. There are some variances dependent on whether you’re in a studio, office or on location, but the principles remain the same.
