Apart from consulting experts, ensure a calm set environment, use safe equipment, and provide suitable footing. Follow The PACT guidelines (below). Prepare for emergencies with clear plans and first aid provision. Consider adjusting scenes to minimize risks, use CGI for dangerous stunts, and ensure proper post-filming care.

Legal Requirements

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (“the Act”) requires you to ensure that any horse, pony, donkey or mule for which you are responsible, whether on a permanent or a temporary basis has a suitable environment to live in; has a healthy diet; is able to behave normally; has appropriate company is also protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.

Adhering to the measures below will contribute to a safe production environment for horses and crew.
