Working Lights

Every workplace must have suitable and sufficient lighting and, so far as is reasonably practicable, it should be natural light. In accordance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, employers must assess possible risks in the workplace.

The provision of adequate lighting and lighting levels should be assessed to ensure they are satisfactory, or whether they pose significant risks to people in the workplace. An assessment of lighting can form an assessment of its own, but should also be a consideration in risk assessing other task specific activities.
