James Cox

James has been an integral part of First Option since 2015, bringing his expertise in film and TV safety to a variety of high-profile projects. He holds an MSc in Environmental and Risk Management and is a Certified Member of IOSH, complemented by an NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety. His qualifications are further enriched by an RSPH Certificate in Asbestos Management, and he is also an Advanced Open Water Diver.

James possesses extensive experience in providing safety support across numerous genres within the TV and film industry. Notable credits include Jurassic World: Dominion, Chernobyl, Paddington 2,   Giri/Haji, Strike Back,  and  The Crown. Throughout these projects and many others, James has been pivotal in planning and supporting activities related to construction, asbestos management, special effects, stunts, use of weapons and large-scale crowd sequences.

James’s commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail ensure that each production runs smoothly while maintaining the highest safety standards. His approachable yet professional demeanour makes him a valuable asset to any production team.
