Would You Call Cut?
The Scenario
It's 2:30am. After a 14-hour filming day, an exhausted crew member is preparing to drive home. They insist they're fine, but have a substantial journey ahead. No alternative transport has been arranged.
What's your call?
Best answer: CALL CUT
Fatigue affects reaction times, concentration and judgement. Someone who is exhausted may not accurately recognise their impairment.
Raise the concern and arrange a safer alternative, such as a rested driver, suitable transport or accommodation. Simply asking whether someone feels fit to drive is not a reliable safeguard.
Takeaway: No wrap time or production schedule is worth a serious road incident.
Make the call!
Or you could just roll VT… but where’s the challenge in that? [02:48]
